Today I went to this agency for help with my ID and when I walked in I saw a pamphlet for anger management and I thought I would ask about me getting into that program. I said to myself if everything goes ok and I get the ID and if I feel like I still want to be a client of the agency after getting my ID. The way I look at it is they did not just help me get my ID back or help me complete the form but they also helped give me a good reason not to ask for any more services from them and that means no anger management program from them. This is a place where you can get help with getting your ID replaced but the person who they are currently hiring to help clients with things like that don't care about things like confidentiality and consent. Today I met with a worker at this agency and the worker breached my confidentiality. We were completing the application to get my birth certificate and at one point she asked me what my mothers birthdate was and I told her I forgot and I asked the worker if I could use her phone to call my mom and ask. She said yes. I gave her my mother number and she called it and I assumed she would call the number and hand over the phone but no instead she called and instead of handing over the phone and allowing me to ask my mom myself, she called the number and spoke to my mom directly and asked my mom herself when she was born. I was upset because dint give her permission or my consent to talk to my mom directly and I only gave her permission to call the number but not speak to my mom directly. I assumed she would call the number but hand over the phone but instead she called the number and spoke to her directly without my consent. She called the number and just did not even consider maybe I did not want her talking to my mom directly because I dint want her to know I was a client at this agency or that I was transgender. She just did not care about my wishes and did not care if maybe I did not want my mom to know I was a client there or that I was trans. if that was the case, well she would know now after she called and said what agency she worked for and her name and she called me "Jessica" instead of "Jesse" and by calling me "Jessica" she is outing me out. The worker dint even ask if I was out to my mom as trans. And I am out but if I was not out to my mom as transgender than she would have outed me out to my mom and she could have created unnecessary conflict. Anyways this was a bad situation. Now I know not to see a therapist for mental health or a doctor for a check up after that place. Not if they are going to not care about things like consent. And especially if when I am complaining they roll their eyes and look the other way and make it clear they wont me listening to your complaint so you have no choice but to leave their office.
